Buying your first home comes with a lot of new terms, a lot of paperwork, and a lot of questions. That’s completely normal, and you don’t need to have it all figured out before we talk.

Here’s what first-time buyers often don’t expect:

  • You’ll need money for more than the down payment. Plan for closing costs and an inspection too.

  • Getting pre-approved early makes your offer stronger and saves you from surprises.

  • There may be down payment assistance programs you qualify for. Your lender can walk you through what’s available in California.

  • The inspection is your chance to learn about the home before you commit. It’s a normal part of the process.
